According to the latest news, the new government has decided to stop the Punjab employment scheme. As this scheme has been introduced by the PTI government for the distribution of loans among the youth of the province, 24 News HD TV channel reported on Friday. Last year, the PTI government disbursed loans worth Rs 30 billion to unemployed youth in Punjab. But it can only provide loans of Rs 600 million out of them. However, under the previous government, 100,000 unemployed youth had taken loans under the ‘Punjab Rozgar’ scheme.
The purpose of offering Punjab Employment Scheme is to help poor or needy people so that they can start their own business. Young people will get loans from the government to start their own business to support their families.
However, the scheme is limited to the current financial year for third party evaluation, the secretary added, adding that work is underway to launch better schemes for providing loans.
