Punjab Digital Skills 2.0 Programme
To help the unemployed youth and increase employment opportunities, the Punjab Government decided to launch the Digital Humar 2.0 programme. Therefore, the government organized a consultation meeting and design workshop to discuss the roadmap for the skill program at Arfa Software Technology Park. However, PITB, HED, Planning and Development Board, and Pakistan Software Houses Association of IT and ITES jointly held events to discuss the early stages of the skill programme. However, stakeholders from government, IT industry and academia were also present in the consultative meeting.
Punjab IT Minister while addressing the consultation meeting said that at least 20,000 jobs will be created through our 2.0 program to benefit the youth and freshers. Nair said that about 16,000 candidates graduate from Punjab universities every year.

After the IT Minister, the HED Provincial Minister also spoke about our 2.0 programme. He said that the youth should be trained in digital skills and academic knowledge. Apart from this, other participants also spoke about the importance of the Hummer program and its benefits to the youth.
It is also reported that as part of the Skill 2.0 program from January 2023, the graduating batch will be provided with “Education or Skill Alongside” orientation. Thus, the aim of starting such programs is to help the youth and provide them with more employment opportunities after imparting training.
