Pakistan Private Association announced protest against Punjab Regulatory Authority.

According to recent news, the president of All Pakistan Private College and School Association (APPSCA) has announced a protest against the government in the province. APPSCA president Malik Abrar Hussain also announced the closure of all private schools and colleges as a threat. APPSCA did this against the Punjab Regulatory Authority.

In Punjab, the provincial government announced the establishment of Punjab Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PPERA). The government has decided to create the authority to regulate the private schools and colleges of Punjab. However, this authority will be led by the Punjab Education Minister. The authority will consist of 11 members including MPAs.

The Punjab Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PPERA) will have sub-committees for the districts of Punjab. The authority will carry out functions related to private educational institutions like qualification of teachers, salary, registration, fees, facilities and others.

According to the rules, if an educational institution does not comply with the PPEIRA regulation, they will face heavy penalties. A fine of Rs 200,000 can be imposed for violating the rules. However, a fine of up to 10 million for harassment and 20 million for negligence.
