APTA closed all primary schools in Peshawar after clash with police.

All Primary Teachers’ Association Apta has decided to keep schools closed from today due to a fierce clash with the Peshawar Police. Peshawar police baton charge and shelling of tear gas on protest of primary school teachers. According to the details, the police took strict action when the teachers’ negotiations with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government failed. After failed negotiations, the police tried to disperse the protesters gathered in front of the KP Assembly through aerial firing, lathi charge and teargas shelling. As a result, the peaceful protesters started pelting stones at the police. During this incident Two teachers and two policemen were injured and taken to Lady Reading Hospital.

In this regard, APTA Provincial President Azizullah said that the protestors will not go back until their conditions are met and the policemen who have committed such brutal acts on the peaceful protestors are called to account.
