PEC Notification to conduct Large Scale Assessment (LSA) in February 2023

The Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) has informed all the CEOs (DEAs) of Punjab regarding the Large Based Assessment (LSA-2023). The notification states that PEC will conduct LSA-2023 in February for grades 02-04, 6 and 7. However, mass assessment for 4th class will be full scale and pilot for 2,3,6,7. Classes for skill subjects of English, Urdu, Mathematics, and General Knowledge/Science.

Thus, the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) sought data from divisional public schools and other private schools registered with DEAs to finalize the sample size. Thus, institutions have to provide complete data in Excel sheet by 21 November 2022.

Data required for LSA-2023

Institutions shall provide the following in Excel sheet for Large Scale Assessment (LSA) 2023.

  • School Registration Number/Code
  • School Name
  • School Address
  • separately
  • Tehsil
  • School Level (Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary)
  • Type of School (Boys, Girls, Both)
  • School Area (Urban/Rural)
  • Gender of Students (Male/Female/Both)
  • Grade wise and gender wise admission of students from Gerade 01-08
  • School official phone number/email id
  • Name of the Head Teacher/Proprietor of the School
  • Total number of teachers at elementary level

The PEC directed the CEOs to consider the following criteria before collecting the data of divisional public schools and private schools.

  • Please select all the DPS located in your particular and submit their data.
  • Select 08 registered private schools of primary and elementary grades from your district.
  • Out of the 08 registered private schools, 04 should be from the stream, such as Dar Arqam, Educators, etc., and the remaining four from the general category.
  • Out of 04 private chain schools, 02 should be for boys and 02 for girls. The same is the case with the general category schools.
  • In Grade 4, a minimum of 10 students must be enrolled.
  • In grades 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, each class must have a minimum enrollment of 25 students.
