We have good news to share with all street hawkers. We are pleased to announce that the government has taken a wonderful step to benefit street hawkers by launching a sensible initiative. The purpose of this street hawker is to achieve socio-economic development. First, the program is under the auspices of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) under Labor. Will start in Islamabad Capital with the participation of Feel the program.
Under this initiative, about 200 vendors in Islamabad have got vending licenses. Licenses issued by the municipality and new eco-friendly vehicles. Syed Tahir Sardar, one of the beneficiaries, was happy that any government paid attention to the concerns of street vendors. This is the first time in the history of Pakistan that any government pays attention, expresses concern for helping street vendors, and takes steps to ensure their decent earnings by providing them with a certificate of legal license.
