The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has announced a National Transfer Policy on Vacant Seats in 2022 for MBBS and BDS admissions. According to the notification, PMC has opened transfer window on vacant seats from April 1, 2022. However, the National Transfer Policy is for the first year. That way, students can now move to any medical or dental college where there are vacancies.

However, below are the detailed instructions for which students can apply for transfer.

  • All public and private medical / dental colleges will allow students to apply for transfers to the notified vacancies with immediate effect.
  • Students enrolled in medical / dental colleges may be transferred to other colleges in the same program and level against the announced vacancies.
  • Colleges have no right to prevent students from dropping out of college and / or transferring to other colleges. Also, no college would require an NOC for such a transfer. If someone goes to college, it will be illegal.
  • Colleges will display a list of students applying for transfers on their websites.
  • The complete final list of transferred students should be notified to the Authority by April 30, 2022.
  • The authority will review the vacancies announced by the colleges to check the transparency. Thus, after examining the list of transfer students and any complaint from the students, the authority will report the transfer of vacant seats.
